The Lola Yamaha ABT Formula E Team competes in the FIA Formula E World Championship, uniting Lola Cars' legendary motorsport heritage, Yamaha’s cutting-edge technology, and the racing expertise of ABT Sportsline.
We are looking for a Simulator Engineer to play a central role in operating, maintaining, and developing our Driver-in-the-Loop (DiL) simulator environment. This includes both hardware and software components and supports our vehicle development and race preparation efforts.

What We Offer
We are looking for a Simulator Engineer to play a central role in operating, maintaining, and developing our Driver-in-the-Loop (DiL) simulator environment. This includes both hardware and software components and supports our vehicle development and race preparation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Simulator Operation & Session Support
- Operate and manage DiL simulator sessions with drivers and engineers.
- Prepare simulation runs for car development and race event prep.
Modelling & Software Development
- Develop and maintain vehicle models in MATLAB/Simulink.
- Work with Canopy models (DiL and offline).
- Develop scripts and tools to optimise simulation workflows.
- Maintain and enhance rFpro-based simulation tracks and session setups.
- Update and document track models and simulation environments.
Hardware & Systems
- Maintain and upgrade simulator hardware (sensors, actuators, wiring looms).
- Monitor simulator system health and ensure reliability.
Integration & Communication
- Handle API interactions and CAN-based communication.
- Support vehicle network diagnostics and integration tasks.
